NomadPoint
vs Flighty

NomadPoint on iPhone: a day in Bangkok on the map, three numbered stops with the route between them, above that day's itinerary

Short answer

Flighty tracks flights for free, but every alert is behind Flighty Pro ($59.99/year): delay and gate notifications, Live Activities, delay predictions and importing flights from email or your calendar. NomadPoint Pro ($29.99/year in the US) sends delay, gate and cancellation alerts and puts the flight on your lock screen, and the free plan covers the rest of the journey, including the visa and Schengen rules for your passport.

Flighty

Flighty is a live flight tracker, and the best one there is: inbound aircraft, delay prediction and gate changes, often ahead of the airline. It is not a travel planner and does not try to be. NomadPoint plans the whole trip the flight belongs to: stays, activities and travel days, plus the visa and passport rules that decide how long you can stay once you land. These are complementary, and using both is the sensible setup.

Where it wins

  • Live flight status, delays and gate changes, often before the airline
  • Inbound aircraft tracking so you see a delay coming
  • Beautiful flight history and statistics
  • Vastly more proven: 146,406 US ratings against our 3

Flighty is free to download and tracks flights free, but every alert, the Live Activity and email or calendar import need Flighty Pro, $4.99/month or $59.99/year (checked September 2026). NomadPoint is free to download and use. NomadPoint Pro is optional: $7.99/month or $29.99/year in the US (priced lower in most other countries), with weekly and one-time lifetime options.

NomadPoint

NomadPoint Pro ($29.99 a year in the US, against $59.99 for Flighty Pro) tells you the moment your flight changes, with delays, gates and a Live Activity on the lock screen, and the free plan also plans the stays, activities and visas around that flight. One app instead of two.

Questions

Is Flighty free?

Flighty is free to download and tracks unlimited flights on live pilot-grade data, ad-free. The alerts are the paid part: disruption notifications, Live Activities, delay and gate predictions, Where’s My Plane, calendar import and email sync all need Flighty Pro, which is $4.99 a month or $59.99 a year (checked September 2026). Your first tracked flight gets Pro free.

Which Flighty Pro features does NomadPoint include for free?

Importing flights from booking emails or your calendar is free in NomadPoint. Delay, gate change and cancellation alerts and the Live Activity on your lock screen on travel days are in NomadPoint Pro, $29.99 a year in the US against $59.99 for Flighty Pro. It does not do Flighty’s delay predictions or inbound aircraft tracking.

Is there a cheaper alternative to Flighty Pro?

NomadPoint Pro covers the part most people subscribe for: alerts when the flight changes, and the flight on your lock screen while you travel, for $29.99 a year in the US against $59.99. The free plan plans the stays and activities around the flight and tracks visa rules and Schengen days for your passport. For delay prediction ahead of the airline, nothing matches Flighty.

Is NomadPoint an alternative to Flighty?

Yes. NomadPoint Pro sends delay, gate and cancellation alerts and shows your flight in a Live Activity on travel days, for $29.99 a year in the US against $59.99 for Flighty Pro. The free plan plans the rest of the journey and tracks the visa and passport rules for it, which Flighty does not do.

Does NomadPoint track flight delays?

Yes. With NomadPoint Pro, it alerts you to delays, new departure times, gate changes and cancellations as the airline posts them, and shows the flight on your lock screen on the day you fly.

Does Flighty track visas or how long I can stay?

No. Flighty is focused on flights and does not calculate entry allowances or passport validity. That is the gap NomadPoint is built for.
