Soar
Soar Travel is a free iPhone app that connects to your Gmail, sorts your confirmations into trips, tracks the flight on your lock screen and lets you book hotels by texting an AI. Nothing costs money, because the hotel booking pays for it. NomadPoint is also free for all of that except the booking, and it answers the question Soar answers with a chatbot: whether the passport you actually hold gets you in, and how many days you have left.
Where it wins
- Gmail connected once, then bookings arrive on their own
- Hotel search and booking inside the app, with Apple Pay
- An AI you can text from iMessage without opening the app
- Curb-to-gate walking time and "leave now" guidance at big airports
- Free with no subscription at all
Soar is free with no paid tier; it earns money on the hotels you book through it. NomadPoint is free to download and use. NomadPoint Pro is optional: $7.99/month or $29.99/year in the US (priced lower in most other countries), with weekly and one-time lifetime options.
NomadPoint
Ask Soar whether you need a visa and an AI answers. NomadPoint checks the rule for your passport and your dates, counts the days you have already spent in the zone, and warns you before your passport is too close to expiry to enter.
What NomadPoint adds
- Visa and entry rules read from a rules engine, not guessed by a chatbot
- Rolling-window day counting (Schengen 90/180, CA-4) across the whole area
- Passport validity warnings before you book, per destination
- A day-by-day plan you build, with stays and activities, not just bookings filed
- Works offline, and on iPad, Mac and Apple Watch as well as iPhone

Questions
Is Soar free?
Yes. Soar Travel is free on the App Store with no subscription and no in-app purchases (checked September 2026). It makes money when you book a hotel through it. It needs iOS 26 and runs on iPhone only.
What does NomadPoint do that Soar does not?
Visa and entry rules for the passport you hold, Schengen 90/180 day counting across the whole area, passport validity checks per destination, a day-by-day plan with stays and activities, offline access, and apps for iPad, Mac and Apple Watch. All of that is free.
Can Soar tell me if I need a visa?
You can ask its AI and it will answer, but it is a chatbot answer rather than a tracked rule. NomadPoint stores entry rules per passport and destination, counts the days you have already used and alerts you before an allowance or a passport runs out.
Do I need to connect Gmail to use NomadPoint?
No. You can forward a booking email, import your iPhone calendar, or add flights and stays yourself. Soar is built around connecting a Gmail account.
